The program’s best service is encouraging communication between kids and parents. The teachers are excellent and all had a way of talking about embarrassing topics in a way that made it feel comfortable and that we are all in it together. I also love how inclusive the program and allows openness and acceptance of gender preference and types of sexuality.

This was great! I did the in-person one with my older daughter, and I really like the updates to the online version. It worked so well overall. I had a great experience with the chat and am thankful for the straight forward way the information was communicated. My 10-year-old daughter was interested and fairly comfortable with the information provided. I feel closer to her as a result. I will absolutely recommend this course to friends with kiddos and will take it again when my other daughter is older.

I really enjoyed the virtual “the Chat” classes. I took in person Heart to Heart classes twice, the most recent 6 years ago. I love the updates of inclusive language and consent. It is wonderful how the class has evolved. Well done!

The Zoom setting was actually beneficial for our family logistically but also provided a more private/safe space for my daughter and I to discuss and connect on the topics.

Great, clear, factual conversations and approach to topics. Was a great way to start these conversations with my pre-teen. I noticed her starting to ask more questions of me between class so I felt like it really was the first step in future conversations.

I think the program is great. I attended the in-person sessions a few years ago with my oldest child. I’m not sure which one I prefer! 5 sessions is a lot, but I think it’s helpful to have lots of smaller conversations, since so much information is covered. Thanks for making it possible to continue this program even with the restrictions that have been in place for the past few years.

The Chat was great. It was nice to find a training that minded terminology around all of the different genders and pronouns and types of bodies. It helped my child feel included and accepted for who they are as a growing person.

I actually think the zoom format worked well. i know that typically this is in person, but I was able to have a lot of great conversations with my son which wouldn’t have been possible in the old format.”

We really enjoyed the virtual format. I found it was easier for kids to engage anonymously with great questions. My kiddo much preferred it to having gone in person (even if we didn’t have COVID to contend with). Also, really did appreciate having more than one instructor. Lots of different voices makes a stronger program.

So good! I have done heart to heart in the past and I actually think this is a better format for the kids to not be as embarrassed. All the sessions were great. The weakest (but still great) was #4. My child was the least engaged in that session.

With my first daughter, we attended Heart to Heart in person. I knew what to expect and was skeptical that an online version would have the same impact. You guys did a really great job in getting the material across and making everyone feel comfortable and confident. I also liked seeing boys and Dads in the same setting. “We are all in this together.”

As you know, many parents across the board are concerned about what exactly is being taught in school sex ed curriculums, yet they often feel ill-equipped to educate their children on their own. The instructors navigated many of the high-conflict topics with tact and often referred kids to talk to their adult about family values around those areas.
